Lando Norris Leads Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten Oscar Piastri at each of the past five race weekends.
Lando Norris edged out fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the points lead from Piastri by just one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, topped the Australian by a mere 0.023s.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the leading McLaren during the running before sprint qualifying set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the other racer in the championship fight, lying with a 36-point deficit Norris, ended up in 17th place as his team followed a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to crash, albeit lightly, when he lost control at corner four during the early running.
Tsunoda slid over the curbs on exit before rotating through the gravel trap, and was fortunate to avoid just a minor contact of the fence.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also lost it, at the final moments of the practice, turning around through the high-speed corner leading to the final bend on to the main straight.
The veteran ended the session in P19, one place behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were well clear of the other competitors, with the German's Sauber P3, 0.619 seconds behind the Australian's time.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto in front of Mercedes' Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
