Football Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Defensive Affair

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to score a possible victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," Glenn commented following the contest.
