Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Coast
An aircraft hovering near a crowded southern California coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a line of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Footage uploaded on social media depict the aircraft commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters reported five persons were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
The department indicated the aircraft was connected to an regular “Cars N Copters” charity gathering scheduled for the following day.
